In this course students will learn the fundamentals of Belly Dance movement and technique. Each class will begin with a body conditioning and a yoga/pilates inspired warm - up.

Students will learn posture and alignment, muscle awareness, hip work, isolation of upper-body movements, and balance awareness. Specific techniques include hip circles, figure eights, undulations, hand gestures, arm placement, and traveling steps. Each class will conclude with a choreography or a set of dance combinations, putting into action what we learned in class.

Chemagne Dance Helps Conscious, Motivated, Inspiring Students To Learn The Art Of Belly Dance Through Healthy Body Movement.

This course is designed for anyone who has a solid foundation of Techniques, Transitions, and Combos, and who feel comfortable to move to the next stage. 

The classes will be more challenging, but very exciting as students increase their dance skills. This course builds on what was learned in Technique, Transitions & Combos. At this stage students will feel more comfortable with Bellydance movement, transitions, and choreography. The classes will expand on building your dance skills, learning artistic expression, and creativity. More complex movements will be introduced, including different variations and combinations of figure eights, circles, squares, and shimmies, just to name of few. In addition, students will be doing more layering – combining three movements at the same time with different body parts – and rhythmic transitions linking moves one after another. At the end of each class, we’ll combine movements into a  challenging choreography or freestyle combination.
