In this course students will learn the fundamentals of Belly Dance movement and technique. Each class will begin with a body conditioning and a yoga/pilates inspired warm - up.
Students will learn posture and alignment, muscle awareness, hip work, isolation of upper-body movements, and balance awareness. Specific techniques include hip circles, figure eights, undulations, hand gestures, arm placement, and traveling steps. Each class will conclude with a choreography or a set of dance combinations, putting into action what we learned in class.
